Insights into the Future Railway Infrastructure

A crucial element in the field of digitalization is the monitoring of the condition of the railway infrastructure using "smart assets."

However, the system should also be able to generate predictions for the further development of the condition as well as for individual components. Understanding the rates of deterioration and deriving digital condition monitoring from them is one of the focal points of Rail4Future in Area 2 "Reliable Railway Tracks."

How this works and what benefits it brings are now being demonstrated by the researchers in a video provided by Univ.-Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Pospischil from TU Graz, Institute of Railway Infrastructure Design.
